You may already be well into planning for your big day, there is so much to plan and set out. Once the dates are confirmed, the wheels are in motion. Lists and choices, forms and options. How does it all work? Well professional wedding planners have a good idea of that; they will suggest people to contact who they have worked with before. At times venues will also have a list of preferred suppliers, that doesn’t always mean they are the best, they just like working with them. Ask yourself if you spend x amount on a supplier is he or she going to be any better than someone who will cost less? Go with your gut feeling. It is often the best answer. If they come across as professional then the job is done. Dealing with the public is so different to dealing with commercial clients, but then saying that, a lot of what I have learnt in the commercial world works very well with dealing with the public. A wedding is such an important event and I will ensure that from my part it all goes to plan and the couple will get the results that they want..The interesting point of this venue Knebworth House is that when I went to recce the location in was in January 2010 I walked onto a film set in a suit and carrying a clip board. It was the set for ‘The King’s speech’. I did apologise to Helena Bonham-Carter and Colin Firth! I was almost an extra.
I have also since worked at Drapers Hall which also appears in the movie.

Patricia of Patricia’s Cuisine contacted me about doing a portrait of her sons and their respective other halves to give as a birthday gift. We spent a couple of hours in the studio and the guys had a lot of fun. Clothing and style had already been discussed and so it proved, they all complimented each other with their clothing ( nothing too light and definitely no printed ‘t’s). The resulting image was very well received and now sits proudly on the wall.

Wow! Two in one day. Sunday seems a good day to see potential clients and it paid off when two couples booked me for my services for 2012. Being an Olympic year it seems more couples are looking to tie the knot. There always is an upturn post-Christmas in enquiries so I am preparing for great things for next year.

There are still a number of couples that I have met who will not be booking till next year for 2012/13 and even 2014! But rest assured I will still be holding prices for all Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire weddings for both Civil and church ceremonies.

Wycombe registry Office was the venue for the wedding of Louise Greenwell and Shaun Cumming. Another new venue for Nigel Crump Photography Wycombe Registry Office in Wycombe Bucks. We were lucky that we dodged the showers in August and then went onto the registrar’s favourite venue Bradenham Manor just north of High Wycombe. Nigel Crump was recommended by a guest who saw Nigel working at Chartridge the previous year. The couple had a classic american car Plymouth Belevedere.

A great wedding venue with so many locations to get good photographs. A wonderful staircase and cobbled driveway are both popular spots. The gardens and lawns are splendid also.

Why choose a professional photographer when Uncle Roy has a Nikon? Well Uncle Roy is a Nikon owner, he is not a photographer. You may save £500.00 you may even save £1000.00, but even when the confetti has blown away and the last guest has left, you will be wondering if you made the right decision. Digital photography makes the operation a lot easier. But I would not trust Uncle Roy to take out my tonsils just because he owns a knife. My philosophy is that I am a professional, I am used to dealing with people, I know how weddings work and how to keep everyone happy. I do my job quickly and efficiently but with care and attention to detail. I plan and make notes before the day. Bookings are coming in thick and fast, 2012 certainly seems to be a popular year for weddings, it may even prove to beat year 2000. A number of venues will be staging their wedding exhibitions on Sunday October 23rd 2011. Giving potential bride and grooms the opportunity to visit more than one venue in one day. With so many shows asking me to exhibit its difficult to pick a venue. There are indeed many more wedding photographers to choose from, but buyer beware! An attractive price may not mean you will get what you are expecting. If you wish to make an appointment to see me. I will save you time and money by coming to visit you at your home or ideally at the venue where you plan to get married, chances are that I am familiar with the venue.

Chicheley Hall becomes new venue for Nigel Crump Photography in 2012

In 2007, Grade I listed Chicheley Hall was placed on the market for sale, with a guide price of £9 million. It was bought by the Royal Society for £6.5 million, funded in part by Fred Kavli. The Royal Society has spent a further £12 million renovating the house, and adapting it to become the Kavli Royal Society International Centre, a venue for science seminars and conferences. Wedding photographer Nigel Crump has been selected as the preferred choice to cover the wedding of Emma Wilkinson and her fiance Stuart.
Interestingly Nigel Crump carried out photography for Savills plc when the property came to market back in 2007. Emma now works in the Marketing department for Savills plc.

A fine end to a perfect day

As you walk into this 18th century Grade1 listed building you feel you are part of its history, where many politicians, heads of state and celebrities have walked. You can marvel at the scenery even approaching up the tree lined drive.

In 1903 the house was bought by Sir Julius Wernher, who had made his fortune from the diamond mines of South Africa. Wernher had the interior remodelled in the early 20th century by the architects of the Ritz Hotel, Charles Mewes and Arthur Davis (architect).

The Mansion House itself has a choice of beautifully appointed rooms in which to exchange your wedding vows. These include the walnut panelled Churchill Room, the sitting room with its wonderful terrace or even the Faberge room on the lower floor.

The stunning backdrop for wedding photography is provided by Luton Hoo’s formal Italian gardens and its surrounding 1,000 acres of sweeping Capability Brown parkland.

A little known fact is the secret garden where it is reputed that Edward VIII confided in Wallace Simpson and decided to abdicate from the throne.

All of this is part of the heritage where many couples decide to enjoy the serenity of Luton Hoo and its wonders.
